  • shittywebcomics: Honestly, I’m not entirely convinced this isn’t a joke someone made.   You know the difference between a racist and a progressive?  A racist might laugh at it, but at least he’d immediately understand why replacing a talking monkey with a black kid is really fucking offensive, while a progressive SJW type would just think “Yay, a cute new comic featuring a WoC!”  And that’s not even an exaggeration, all the social justice-y blog and and review sites are praising the fuck out of this, with one site (in an article written by a long time webcomic creator, no less) even saying “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur May Be Marvel’s Most Adorable New Comic Ever”.  It will be interesting to see if they’ll continue with that narrative or pull 180 about the book once the ‘um, holy fuck that’s kind of racist!’ reaction starts to circulate around the internet.
